Wasps flying in and out of one specific hole indicate a nest. Lots of wasps around flowers or plants are just feeding, that is not a nest. Your technician traces the real activity to the nest itself, in the loft, soffits, wall cavity or garden, before any treatment starts.

Treating the nest

Once the nest is located, your technician determines the best equipment to use in order to treat it. Wearing full protective clothing, they pump a professional insecticidal dust in at high pressure, penetrating deep into the nest to reach the whole colony.

The treatment starts to work.

Once the dust is applied, the wasps alert the others that the nest has been attacked. Their instinct is to gather round the queen to protect her, and in doing so they spread the dust to her and throughout the colony.

Keep any windows and doors near the treated nest closed until activity has stopped, and keep children and pets away from the area. If the nest is still active after treatment, your technician returns and re-treats it at no charge. That is your guarantee.

The price does not go up if the nest is large or awkward to reach, but the nest itself grows every week, so the sooner it is treated, the sooner the risk to your family is gone.

I have two nests. Will it be double the cost?

No. While our technician is carrying out your wasp nest removal, they also check for additional nests, as there is sometimes more than one. Any additional wasp nests found are treated on the same visit at £45 + VAT per nest, not the full price again.

Do you actually carry out wasp nest removal?

This is a common misconception, as it is not possible to safely remove an active wasp nest. Professional wasp nest removal in London actually means treatment: pumping an insecticide powder into the heart of the nest, which kills all of the wasps. Wasps never use the same nest twice, though a new queen may build close to the old one next year if the location is favourable.

Can't I just leave the nest alone?

You can, but the wasps will keep increasing and reach a peak towards the end of the season. Then the queen leaves the nest to hibernate, and once she has gone, the workers fly around aimlessly, lost and looking to sting anyone nearby.
